CS2C Video Editing Project

This assignment assumes you have some familiarity with the content covered in the Editing with iMovie tutorial.

If you haven't already, go out and shoot your video using the techniques you've learned in Video Production Basics and follow your storyboard. (If you decide to completely change your story, you should plan out and submit a new storyboard first. Remember to avoid having just "talking heads" and remember that it may not be an infomercial.)

Then import your footage and edit your story and upload it to YouTube according to the guidelines in Coursework.

Assignment will be graded on the following criteria:

• Not a typical infomercial. Not just "talking heads".
• Good variety of shots / angles.
• Follows your approved storyboard.
• Relies on cinematic visuals to drive the story, not just dialogue, not just titles and text.
• 3 minutes or shorter. (One of the editor's main jobs is to cut out the excess, even when it's "good" footage!
• Uploaded and submitted URL is accessible in YouTube by the public. (We can't grade it if it's set to Personal/Private, so make sure you can still watch it when you're not logged into YouTube.)
• Originality and respect of copyrights. (Spoofs are great, but final work must still be original.)
• Apparent effort.
