CS2C Music Composing Project

See the Music Composing in GarageBand tutorial for an overview of the features. Create an original 20-30 second song. Upload your finalized MP3 file to Coursework. Hold onto a copy of your GarageBand project for later use. Looking to do some mixing and mashups? Please do not use copyrighted work for which you are not licensed to remix and distribute. Feel free to check out some royalty-free music and sound effects. Assignment will be graded on the following criteria:

• Song is 20-35 seconds (no more, no less). This may be the most challenging part of the assignment, especially if you're having fun!
• Each instrument managed on a separate track.
• At least 3 tracks in song.
• Use at least one green Software Instrument (MIDI) track and one blue Real Instrument track. Bonus points for using an orange Real Instrument input (voice, guitar, piano, etc)!
• Clean start and end of song using fades if necessary.
• Originality and respect of copyrights. (Spoofs / mashups are great, but final work must still be original.)
• Apparent effort.
• You will not be graded on musicality, so feel free to experiment and have fun, but do work that you'd be proud of!
